Company basic information in english

Ceresto is a new technology company that began operations on 10 August 2009. The company develops, manufactures and markets its own energy-efficient, low-maintenance heat exchangers with integrated electrochemical cleaning systems.
The accumulation of dirt on heat transmitters inflict places an enormous financial burden on industry, in the form of added cleaning costs and increased energy use. Dirty heat transmitters also impede performance and reduce capacity.
For Western economies, the costs incurred by dirty heat transfer systems have been calculated to be in the region of 0.25% of GDP. In the USA, heat transfer system cleaning costs have been estimated to be equivalent to around €5 billion annually (R.L. Watts & L. O. Levin), and in the whole world the corresponding figure is around €10 billion (H. Steinhagen-Muller 2001). In short, dirty heat transmitters are a global problem, one which Ceresto’s new product is designed to solve.
Ceresto’s product allows heat exchangers to be kept continuously clean. This has environmental benefits, since harmful chemical cleaning agents, for instance, could be rendered obsolete by the new method. With Ceresto’s new product the ratio of energy consumption to heat transfer in heat exchange systems can be kept optimal at all times, producing significant savings. In addition to manufacturing continuously operating integrated systems, the company manufactures and sells washing apparatuses and washing services for free-standing heat exchanger plates. Clean heat transmission surfaces reduce the amount of energy needed for heat transfer, helping to reduce harmful carbon dioxide emissions. The company has patents relating to its production methods.
No product of this type is available at the market despite years of research. At present, heat transfer systems are most often cleaned mechanically and/or chemically. Mechanical cleaning erodes the materials in the system, and chemical cleaning agents (acids) have a negative impact on the environment and on health, in addition to their financial costs.
Ceresto’s management team are professionals of varied specializations, all of whom have extensive experience in the fields of heat exchange technology, electrical chemistry and material technology. The company has the organizational mechanisms in place for product development, manufacture and sales.
To develop the product for mass production a large Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (Tekes) research and development project was initiated in autumn 2009.
Our aim as a company is for fast but controlled growth, to become a globally significant manufacturer of state-of-the-art heat exchangers. Our keywords: energy savings, improved energy efficiency, reduced environmental impact through reduced need for washing, and improved productivity.
